Hi, my name is Miriam. I’ll start off with my time, I’ve been down since 2011. It’s not that long but it feels like it. I’m hoping from doing this I’ll find a few good friends out there.
More about me: I love music, making people laugh (it’s good for the soul), art and drawing. I like to learn new things and I’m very open-minded.
So moving on, I have goals to accomplish in here to better myself and prepare me for my future goals out there. First I’ll get my GED, then I plan to take classes in Psychology because I want to learn more about the mind, specifically focusing on PTSD. It is something I believe can help me personally and from that I can reach out and help others, I believe that is what I am meant to do. Some other goals for while I’m here is taking paralegal classes, drug counseling, and also get some vocational skills in mechanics and welding. I want to be sure when I leave here I have the abilities to take care of myself and also help my family.
My family brings me to my ultimate reason for everything, all my goals lead to them. My mom has breast cancer and is not getting the treatment she needs. I hope to one day be able to help her financially and to start an organization for her and others in the same situation as her. What keeps me going is something my family taught me a long time ago, where there’s a will there’s a way. I’m hoping to find a friend, legal help, or just some support, and to give mine in return
